The .COM is the Grandaddy of domain extensions, the Big Kahuna and the gold standard. It is recognized around the world. While it is not the only option out there, it’s a prestigious place to be, keeping in mind that resorting to a very long and complex .COM domain name over a short generic domain in a different but relevant extension, is not always the best course.
